A hidden and small inner yard at the heart of the city seems almost spooky in its silent striving for a forgotten functions, joys of the past, re-legitimatization of its broken furniture and goods…

All that is present is the yearn for a timelessness. Perhaps the most oxymoronic form of being in the city.

Fractional Infinity

The obvious sound, quite loud but silent due to it’s everyday presence. There is a very particular infinity in those 30 seconds of tram waiting at the stop.

The ostensibly stable motor sound oozes restless rhizomes of waiting, departing and exploring (new routes).  When immersing into this sound at the tram stop, it is very easy to escape into own dreams; it is very easy to extend time from 30 seconds to 15 minutes; it is very easy to forget the destination of the upcoming tram trip.

Escalators at the metro station in Helsinki:
the soothing rhythmic vibration(s) that take you both to new realities and places, and to new forms of being/thinking/listening/acting/sensing/interacting. Immersing into the embrace of the ongoing human flux, the sound of the random trash that makes a beautiful noise loop on your escalator trip, the sense of infinite machinic circulation…the organ that carries you with the friendly touch of those squeaks and creaks, its singing.
