Why do I want to participate?

I do that kind of experiments myself, mostly because they're fun, next because of an inner urge to steadily widen my world with new perceptions and descriptions. I find it rather intriguing to bring this approach to a broader platform.

Sunday’s Train dayNoise Challenge #1: The Pulse

Sunday TrainSo I’ve been out recording material for the first noise – doing an experiment I’ve wanted to try for quite a while: placing some recorder really close to the rails of our local train! So i placed my iPhone on the sleeper, moved to a secure location and waited for the bells and the train starting, picking up speed and passing over the phone. the sound got better than I expected, (and the video got rather scary – I’ts posted on facebook:
