There’s a noise/sound in Barcelona that I haven’t heard in any other city: the sound of the butane sellers. In Spain, there’re still a lot of old buildings with butane kitches and heaters, and usually if you need a butane gas cylinder you must call the company that sells them. However, in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter there’re butane sellers who walk through the streets carring carts with butane gas cylinders, and they bang on them loudly with a piece of metal so you know they’re there in case you need a butane gas cylinder.
