Why do I want to participate?

I hope that the inspiration provided through this project, and accountability of being part of something outside of my home, will help to get me creating again.   I like to touch fabrics, sort objects, create things. I was born and raised on the most beautiful part of the American prairie. Follow me on Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/sharks

Noise Challenge #2: The Little Things (ARE HUGE)Noise Challenge #2: The Little Things

This challenge was difficult for me, not because I found it hard to truly listen to sounds I would typically ignore, but because I find that I cannot escape even the least significant sounds.  How can I start paying attention to something when the real challenge is to ignore it?  Did you know that the television makes noise, even with no program on or sound coming from its speakers?  I did, and can tell you when one is powered on in a room down the hall.  There is something on in my house right now & I can’t figure out what it is.  This laptop?  I don’t know.

I’m cheating a little bit, posting art that was already created before this assignment.  I know.  But it’s applicable here.

An adornment of knotted cotton, to appear as an exposed spinal cord, speaking to my hypersensitivity.  It represents ALL those little noises, the ones most people don’t realize exist.
